XRP outperforms Bitcoin and Ethereum with nearly 5% weekly gain
XRP has notably outperformed the two largest cryptocurrencies this week. While Bitcoin gained 1.9% and Ethereum declined around 2%, XRP rose nearly 5%, trading around $1.43.
Highlights
- XRP rose nearly 5% over the past week, significantly outperforming Bitcoin (+1.9%) and Ethereum (−2%).
- The token is trading near $1.43 and remains above its 200-day exponential moving average.
- Spot XRP ETFs saw $38.86 million in inflows over four days, pushing total inflows above $1.25 billion.
Diverging performance among major assets
Over the past seven days, XRP climbed from approximately $1.37 to $1.43. This marks one of the rare occasions in recent months when the token has shown independent strength rather than simply following broader market movements, CoinGape reports.
In contrast, Bitcoin hovered near $75,815, while Ethereum traded around $2,313. XRP is also holding comfortably above its 200-day exponential moving average — a key technical level often viewed as a signal of a potential trend shift.
Drivers behind XRP’s strength
Institutional interest has been a major factor supporting XRP’s performance. Over a four-day period, spot XRP ETFs recorded inflows of $38.86 million — the longest streak of positive flows since March. Total inflows into these products now exceed $1.25 billion.
Another catalyst was the launch of Wrapped XRP (wXRP) on the Solana network, which allows the token to be used in Solana’s decentralized finance ecosystem without needing to be sold. Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko highlighted the integration as an important step toward expanding XRP’s utility.
Additional support has come from progress on the CLARITY Act and improving sentiment across the altcoin sector.
What the outperformance means
The relative strength of XRP suggests that investors are increasingly rotating capital into select altcoins amid slowing momentum in Bitcoin and a correction in Ethereum.
If XRP manages to break decisively above $1.45, the next technical target could be $1.50, with $1.60 potentially coming into focus on stronger momentum. For now, XRP stands out as one of the strongest performers among major cryptocurrencies this week.
As previously covered, XRP trading goes live in WhatsApp.
