BitGo launches exchange connectivity tool for institutional crypto asset management
BitGo unveils Link platform

Institutional crypto custody providers are expanding treasury and trading infrastructure as clients seek tighter control over assets held across multiple venues. BitGo has launched BitGo Link to let clients view and move holdings from its custody platform and connected centralized exchanges through a single interface.

Highlights

  • BitGo launched BitGo Link, allowing institutional clients to unify visibility and manage transfers across external exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, and Crypto.com from its platform.
  • BitGo reported first-quarter net losses that widened to $60.7 million from $25.7 million a year earlier, despite a 112.6% revenue increase to $3.8 billion.
  • BitGo cut 15% of staff in June amid operational pressure, with BTGO closing at $4.86 on July 31 and trending slightly higher pre-market Monday.

Platform rollout and product functions

As reported by The Block, citing BitGo Holdings Inc., the new BitGo Link tool connects institutional client accounts at external crypto exchanges including Coinbase, Kraken and Crypto.com to BitGo's platform.

The product is designed to give treasury teams a unified view of digital assets held both in BitGo custody and on centralized exchanges. BitGo says users can see accounts and sub-accounts in real time and initiate transfers from the platform to rebalance across venues, meet margin or liquidity needs, or respond to market opportunities.

Chief Executive Mike Belshe says Link makes BitGo a command center for institutional treasury and trading. The company says all transfers through Link are routed via BitGo's Policy Engine, allowing users to apply additional permission controls, while the system also reconciles transfers against exchange records and tracks them through settlement.

Growth strategy and financial backdrop

Link builds on BitGo's existing Go Network, which provides settlement and liquidity access within its qualified custody platform. The company says it plans to add support for more exchanges and treasury functions over time, extending a broader product push that also included quantum-protection security tools for wallets introduced last month.

Founded in 2013, BitGo says it holds more than $100 billion in assets under custody and is among the largest crypto custodians in the U.S. The company went public in January 2026 after receiving conditional approval for a U.S. trust bank charter alongside firms including Circle and Ripple.

Its latest product launch comes after operational and financial pressure earlier this year. BitGo cut 15% of staff in June after reporting first-quarter net losses widened to $60.7 million from $25.7 million a year earlier, even as revenue rose 112.6% year on year to $3.8 billion; BTGO closed at $4.86 on Friday, July 31, and is slightly higher in pre-market trading on Monday.

In our earlier article on the crypto industry’s political spending ahead of the U.S. midterms, we outlined how nearly $200 million has been directed into key races via super PAC activity to support candidates seen as favorable to digital-asset policy. We also noted that after the stablecoin-focused Genius Act, the sector is now pushing for the broader Clarity Act, aiming to lock in clearer federal rules before the Senate’s August recess.
