What's behind Morpho's latest 10.5% price pullback?
Morpho slides 10.5% today to $2.207

Morpho (MORPHO) fell 10.5% after a sharp intraday reversal, with selling pressure intensifying even as sizeable stablecoin inflows into Morpho Blue remain a recent highlight. The retreat is limited by the asset’s continued position above all its major moving averages, which signals persistent longer-term bullish structure despite near-term volatility.

Stablecoin inflows grow as DeFi managers expand Morpho Blue activity

Stablecoin deposits in Morpho Blue lending markets saw significant growth over the past 30 days, with RLUSD deposits increasing by $17.5 million and PYUSD deposits rising by $90.7 million. The Sentora-managed RLUSD vault reached $280 million, expanding Ripple's stablecoin activity within DeFi lending. Morpho Blue continued to attract asset managers through permissionless, isolated lending markets and curated vault strategies, with Sentora responsible for risk management and collateral approvals, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes that Morpho’s 10.5% drop and the spike in intraday volatility reveal weak technical conviction despite bullish moving average alignment. He highlights that mixed indicator signals, such as an overbought RSI and a strong sell on the Stochastic RSI, raise concerns over sustainability. Ongoing selling pressure, coupled with only moderate support from recent stablecoin inflows, limits immediate upside. Kharitonov sees potential vulnerability if MORPHO/USD breaks below $2.182, as bullish structure alone will not counter further risk-off sentiment. "Persistent overbought technicals and wary sentiment leave MORPHO vulnerable to sharp declines if support cracks," he says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, points to the robust growth in RLUSD and PYUSD deposits as proof of institutional confidence in Morpho Blue. He emphasizes the expanding participation from managers like Sentora and Ripple, signaling broadening adoption and promising scalable DeFi opportunities. Karapetjanc views the current setback as a routine pause within a structurally bullish market context. "With sustained stablecoin inflows and a bullish trend, I expect further growth and strong setups ahead for Morpho," he asserts.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, believes recent volatility reflects a fragile market mood. He sees that elevated intraday swings and conflicting momentum readings undermine trader confidence in short-term direction. Macro pressures and broad selling overshadow positive flows from asset managers for now. "Unless sentiment stabilizes and volatility contracts, upside for MORPHO remains limited," he warns.

Mixed momentum and overbought readings amid technical resistance tests

MORPHO/USD is trading above the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages at $2.0216, $2.0143, and $1.8472 respectively, confirming a bullish alignment across all trends. Immediate levels to watch are the near-term ceiling at $2.459 (today’s high) and the near-term floor at $2.182 (Ichimoku Kijun), with the long-term trend also supported by the bullish MA-50 vs MA-200 alignment. Momentum readings for MORPHO/USD are mixed. The MACD signals buy, indicating upward momentum, but the Average Directional Index (ADX) remains neutral, suggesting limited trend strength. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 62.4573 and the Commodity Channel Index (CCI) both point to overbought conditions, yet the Stochastic RSI issues a strong sell. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) registers positive at 0.3295, confirming intraday buyer dominance with an overbought bias. The Awesome Oscillator also reflects ongoing buy momentum. Current price action is marked by high intraday volatility at 18.22%, with indicator divergence highlighting uncertainty about the short-term direction.

Earlier, analysts noted a notable shift in Morpho's trend highlighting increasing short- and medium-term technical weakness and the need to monitor consolidation support as downside risk mounted. The current analysis suggests this trend has stabilized with a prevailing bullish structure, and traders should now monitor the $2.459 resistance for signs of a renewed upward move over the coming sessions.
