Avalanche outperforms Bitcoin and Ethereum as RWA demand strengthens

AVAX is noticeably outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum after recovering above $8, adding to signs of a short-term rotation into selected altcoins. Resistance at $8.20, however, is still capping further upside.

Hanwha Investment & Securities, one of South Korea’s major brokerage firms, has completed development of a tokenized securities platform with support for Avalanche. The project has been developed jointly with FairSquare Lab since 2025 and also supports Hyperledger Besu.

The development is particularly significant ahead of regulatory changes in South Korea. From February 4, 2027, distributed ledger technology will officially be recognized as infrastructure for securities recordkeeping.

Against this backdrop, AVAX has shown notable relative strength in recent sessions. The token gained more than 6% on September 7 while Bitcoin was little changed. On September 8, BTC and ETH were both down around 1%, while AVAX continued to hold near $8. This does not confirm a full altseason, but the move resembles a localized rotation from the largest cryptocurrencies into selected altcoins.

Failure above $8.20 puts $7.60 back in focus

The bullish setup outlined earlier fully played out. AVAX held the 50-day SMA, broke above psychological resistance at $7 and accelerated to $8.32. After correcting back toward $7, buyers pushed the price higher again toward the 200-day SMA and resistance at $8.20.

The token has so far failed to establish itself above $8.20, increasing the probability of a short-term pullback toward $7.60 over the coming days.

A daily close below the 200-day SMA near $8.06 would provide additional confirmation of the bearish setup and materially increase the likelihood of a move toward $7.60.

This remains the base case scenario through the end of the current trading week. A decisive and sustained move above $8.20 would invalidate the setup.

Relative strength faces its first major macro test

AVAX’s main advantage right now is not only the improving RWA backdrop, but also its ability to advance when Bitcoin and Ethereum are providing little support to the broader market. If that relative strength persists, signs of a localized rotation into altcoins could become more pronounced.

The move now faces a major macro test. PPI is due on September 10, CPI on September 11, followed by the Fed decision on September 16. AVAX remains a high-beta asset, meaning unexpected shifts in rate expectations could trigger significantly sharper moves than in BTC or ETH.
