This innovation is powered by a tool called "plugin-social-wallets." Developed by Azuki and added to the ai16z repository, it enables the AI Agent, known as "chillguy," to send ETH to any user, even those who have never used cryptocurrency before.
Developers claim this technology could revolutionize social media and the broader media landscape. For example, AI agents for media outlets, politicians, or influencers could send tokens to followers based on interactions, potentially transforming the rules of engagement in creative industries.
The first recipient of cryptocurrency via the AI Agent was American superstar Taylor Swift, to whom chillguy sent 0.0013 ETH without requiring a wallet address.
Beyond showbiz
This technology could soon extend beyond the entertainment industry, enabling anyone to send cryptocurrency within social networks. As long as the sender knows the recipient’s social handle, no wallet address is needed.
The plugin uses a feature called Privy pre-generated wallets to create wallets for users. The technology is easily adaptable for other platforms, including TikTok and Instagram.
