Bitcoin remains under pressure as Middle East tensions weigh on risk appetite
Bitcoin remains volatile as the latest escalation between the United States and Iran has reduced demand for risk assets across global financial markets. Renewed military tensions and growing concerns over energy supply disruptions have strengthened the U.S. dollar and prompted investors to reduce exposure to higher-risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

Although Bitcoin initially showed resilience during the recent rebound, geopolitical uncertainty has once again become a significant headwind.
Institutional flows show signs of stabilization
Institutional sentiment has improved modestly after U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recently recorded their first meaningful net inflows following an extended period of persistent withdrawals. The return of positive flows suggests that long-term investors are selectively rebuilding positions after the recent correction. However, ETF demand remains well below previous peaks, and institutions continue to adopt a cautious stance while geopolitical risks and macro uncertainty remain elevated.
Technical picture remains fragile
The hourly chart shows Bitcoin pulling back after failing to sustain gains above the recent recovery highs. Price has slipped back below its short and medium-term moving averages while continuing to trade close to the rising 200-period moving average near the $61,500 to $61,700 area. This longer-term average is acting as an important technical support level. A successful defense of this zone could encourage another rebound, while a decisive break below it would increase the risk of a deeper correction. At this stage, the broader recovery remains vulnerable, and bullish momentum has weakened noticeably.
Outlook
Bitcoin is likely to remain highly sensitive to geopolitical headlines, ETF flow data, and expectations for U.S. monetary policy. Any further escalation in the Middle East could continue to pressure speculative assets as investors favor liquidity and defensive positioning. Conversely, improving institutional inflows and easing geopolitical tensions would likely provide the strongest catalyst for a more sustainable recovery, but, as written in Bitcoin rebounds as institutional demand shows signs of recovery, bulls should be cautious while BTC holds below 65,000.
