STX slides more than 11% as on-chain incentive program fails to offset selling pressure
Stacks drops 11.06% today to $0.2357

Stacks (STX) dropped 11.06% after seller pressure intensified, even as its market saw the start of a 90-day incentive program aimed at increasing on-chain liquidity. This move is further supported by the loss of the short-term trend, with STX slipping below its 20-day moving average and sellers dominating intraday action.

Highlights

  • Zest Protocol introduced a 90-day incentive on the Stacks market, allocating 3 BTC in STX tokens to sBTC suppliers and USDCx borrowers.
  • The incentive program aims to boost liquidity in preparation for new Bitcoin staking products on the Stacks network, with rewards split evenly and tracked on-chain.
  • STX/USD is trading below its 20-day average with short-term weakness, but medium-term structure remains constructive; expected five-day range is $0.2193 to $0.2521.

Liquidity rewards deployed as preemptive move for bitcoin staking launch

Zest Protocol launched a 90-day incentive initiative on the Stacks market, allocating 3 BTC worth of STX tokens as rewards to sBTC suppliers and USDCx borrowers. The rewards aim to attract more liquidity in advance of upcoming Bitcoin staking products on the Stacks network. Distribution is evenly split between suppliers and borrowers and tracked transparently through on-chain data, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees a worrying short-term breakdown in Stacks. He notes that despite the launch of a 90-day incentive program, selling pressure has overwhelmed initial sentiment and STX closed below its 20-day moving average. Kharitonov is critical of the bullish case, pointing out that most momentum indicators remain inconclusive or neutral. He highlights that current price action reflects a lack of confidence, even after news meant to boost liquidity. "The inability to defend short-term support and the predominance of sellers make a deeper pullback toward $0.2193 a real risk in coming days," Kharitonov states.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, finds the Stacks market poised for opportunity. He argues that the 90-day Zest Protocol incentive signals strong ecosystem development and should drive fresh capital inflows. Karapetjanc sees the medium- and long-term trend structure as firmly bullish, with key support at $0.2193 providing attractive entry levels. He is confident that, despite current volatility, the fundamental path and momentum signals point up. "I expect further growth as the market absorbs new liquidity — bullish structure remains intact and offers multiple setups for participants," Karapetjanc says.
Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, views STX’s current action as a short-term testing ground for both bulls and bears. He notes the incentive news failed to ignite an immediate rebound, but volatility and neutral momentum signals suggest opportunity for reactive traders. Turakhiya believes a sideways move is likely unless price breaks decisively from the $0.2193–$0.2435 band. “Watch for sentiment shifts on intraday dips, as swift reversals are possible in such a volatile setup,” Turakhiya advises.

Short-term momentum weakens as sellers test near-term supports

STX/USD is now trading below its 20-day moving average at $0.2621 but remains above the 50-day at $0.1931 and the 200-day at $0.21. This structure points to weakening short-term momentum and notable pressure from sellers, with medium- and long-term trends still maintaining a constructive bias. Immediate support is located at $0.2193, while resistance is seen at $0.2435. Momentum signals are mixed: MACD and ADX both suggest strong upward momentum, but the RSI at 62.95 remains below overbought, the Stochastic RSI at 28.18 and CCI at 46.13 are neutral, and the BBP at 0.0119 indicates buyers hold only a slim advantage intraday. The AO is neutral and does not reinforce the prevailing direction. STX/USD is currently trading near the session low as daily volatility reaches 9.65%, reflecting negative intraday sentiment following a downside gap after the open.

Earlier, analysts noted that Stacks was exhibiting increasing uncertainty and potential for consolidation amid mixed momentum signals. The current analysis adds a bearish inflection to this outlook, as sustained seller pressure and a technical breakdown now make the $0.2193 support level critical to watch for potential downside risk.
