Strategy adds 1,665 BTC to its Bitcoin holdings

Strategy acquired another 1,665 BTC for approximately $142.7 million, increasing its Bitcoin holdings to 847,666 BTC. The company financed the purchase through the sale of MSTR common stock.

According to a filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Strategy purchased Bitcoin between September 21 and 27 at an average price of $85,681. The company's total spending on its Bitcoin holdings has reached $63.95 billion.

The average purchase price of all Bitcoin held by Strategy, including fees and other expenses, is $75,437. The company has now continued buying for a second consecutive week following a two-week pause.

Strategy sells $246 million in MSTR shares

To raise capital, Strategy sold 1.47 million MSTR common shares, generating approximately $246.2 million in net proceeds. Of that amount, the company used $142.7 million to purchase Bitcoin.

The remaining $103.5 million was used to repurchase STRC preferred shares. In total, Strategy bought back 1.53 million STRC shares for approximately $151.7 million, using an additional $48.1 million in cash to fund the transaction.

The previous week, the company purchased 950 BTC for $75.7 million. Strategy has therefore added 2,615 BTC to its holdings over the past two weeks.

Its USD Cash balance declined from $1.05 billion to $1 billion following the transactions. A separate dollar reserve intended to fund preferred stock dividends and interest payments on debt fell from $5.04 billion to $5.02 billion after the company paid $22.1 million in dividends.

Strategy prepares to move to daily dividends

Meanwhile, Strategy has asked shareholders to approve a shift to daily dividend payments for four series of preferred stock. The change would not alter the dividend rate or the total amount paid.

If approved, the new system will initially take effect for STRC in November. Starting in January 2027, Strategy plans to extend it to its STRF, STRK and STRD preferred shares.

Earlier, we reported that Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor called for the creation of a digital asset rights framework amid the growth of the artificial intelligence economy. He said such infrastructure is becoming increasingly important as digital property plays a larger role.
