Bitwise launches U.S. spot NEAR ETF with staking rewards
Bitwise NEAR ETF debuts

Bitwise is expanding its single-asset crypto exchange-traded fund lineup with a new product tied to NEAR that starts trading on Sept. 29 on NYSE Arca. The fund gives direct spot exposure to the token and is structured to pass staking rewards to shareholders through its net asset value.

Highlights

  • Bitwise launched the first U.S. spot NEAR ETF (NRR) with a 0.75% fee, offering staking rewards through fund NAV.
  • NRR expands Bitwise's single-asset crypto ETP lineup beyond major coins, targeting NEAR's potential in an AI-driven digital economy.
  • NEAR traded at $4.93 with a $6.5 billion market cap, and the ETF gives public investors new regulated access to single-token crypto funds.

NEAR product broadens Bitwise crypto ETF range

As reported by The Block, the Bitwise NEAR ETF, trading under ticker NRR, is the first U.S. spot exchange-traded product offering direct exposure to NEAR. The fund carries a 0.75% management fee, and Bitwise says it intends to stake the NEAR held by the vehicle in-house, with those rewards accruing to investors through the fund's NAV.

Bitwise is positioning the launch around the potential role of NEAR in an AI-driven digital economy. In a release, Chief Executive Hunter Horsley says artificial intelligence is reshaping access to information and economic activity, and that Bitwise sees NEAR as a platform being built for a future in which AI agents interact and transact more broadly.

NRR joins the firm's existing single-asset crypto ETP lineup, which includes products linked to bitcoin, ether, solana, XRP and Hyperliquid. The addition extends Bitwise's push to offer listed vehicles tied to individual digital assets beyond the largest cryptocurrencies by market value.

Market positioning and sector implications

NEAR Protocol is a decentralized blockchain platform designed to support the creation and deployment of decentralized applications with a proof-of-stake consensus model. Bitwise's decision to pair spot token exposure with staking income adds another income-oriented structure to the growing digital-asset ETF segment in the U.S. market.

At the time of writing, NEAR trades around $4.93 and has a market capitalization of about $6.5 billion, placing it among the top 20 non-stablecoin cryptocurrencies. The launch gives public-market investors another regulated route into the crypto sector as asset managers continue to test demand for single-token funds tied to newer blockchain ecosystems.

In our earlier coverage of Raven’s strategic funding round, we discussed how the institutional trading firm raised capital at a $90 million pre-money valuation as it expanded further into prediction markets. We noted that Raven positions itself as a liquidity provider and market-maker across crypto and prediction venues, aiming to meet rising demand for reliable liquidity support as these markets scale.
