TRON DAO highlights compliance and quantum security push at Vienna policing forum
TRON DAO's security vision

Blockchain compliance and security planning are drawing closer scrutiny as public networks seek broader institutional adoption. TRON DAO says its appearance at INTERPOL's New Technologies Forum in Vienna underscores its focus on law enforcement dialogue, privacy tradeoffs and post-quantum readiness.

Highlights

  • TRON General Counsel John Hurston tells the Vienna forum that end-to-end post-quantum signature support on the Nile testnet prepares for quantum computing advances.
  • TRON DAO emphasizes institutional expansion with $30 trillion cumulative transfer volume and over 406 million user accounts, 15 billion transactions, and $28 billion total value locked as of October 2026.
  • TRON highlights engagement with Europol, academia, and policymakers to align security, compliance, and regulatory strategies amid rising institutional adoption of blockchain-based payments and settlement.

Vienna forum focuses on compliance and infrastructure security

As reported by The Block, TRON General Counsel John Hurston joins Europol and academic experts at the forum in Vienna to discuss how distributed ledger technologies may evolve over the next five years and what that means for law enforcement, regulators, developers and blockchain networks.

Hurston addresses the role of transparent public blockchains in supporting compliance and investigative capabilities, while also pointing to the tradeoffs between transparency and privacy-preserving technologies. He says technology and regulation are evolving alongside one another, and that security and compliance need to scale as more institutional capital moves onto public blockchains.

He also points to TRON's deployment of end-to-end post-quantum signature support on its Nile testnet as a step aimed at preparing the network for future advances in quantum computing. The panel closes with a broader discussion on how technologists and investigators can continue building tools together as blockchain systems and investigative methods develop in parallel.

Institutional expansion shapes broader crypto positioning

TRON DAO says its participation reflects continued engagement with law enforcement, academia, policymakers and technology specialists on technical and regulatory issues affecting blockchain infrastructure. The organization presents those efforts as part of a wider strategy centered on security, compliance and institutional readiness as it expands its role in blockchain-based payments and settlement.

TRON recently surpasses $30 trillion in cumulative transfer volume, while also widening institutional access through the Canary Staked TRX ETF, TRX spot and futures products on Bitnomial, expanded custody support from Anchorage Digital and the launch of the tokenized Hamilton Lane SCOPE Fund on TRON. According to TRONSCAN figures cited in the company background, the network records more than 406 million total user accounts, over 15 billion total transactions and more than $28 billion in total value locked as of October 2026.

In our earlier article on the Philippines’ updated tax refund rules, we outlined how the Bureau of Internal Revenue tightened documentation, timing, and filing-venue requirements for claims covering excess creditable withholding taxes and certain disputed collections. The changes are designed to speed up processing and reduce uncertainty, but they also require taxpayers to submit complete records upfront and follow clearer jurisdictional rules, including updated procedures for companies that have ceased operations and for property-sale related refunds.
