Ethereum price prediction: Can ETF inflows and whale buying revive momentum?
Ethereum remains vulnerable below the 50-day SMA

Ethereum has picked up two encouraging capital-flow signals at once, yet the price still has not confirmed a durable return to upside momentum. The next few sessions should show whether fresh demand is strong enough to reshape the short-term structure.

A large on-chain player is continuing to rotate capital from Bitcoin into Ethereum. According to Arkham, the address sold 1,074.36 BTC worth roughly $89.5 million over the past three days and bought 36,159 ETH valued at about $90.6 million.

The picture has also improved for U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs. On October 13, the funds recorded $24.84 million in net inflows, ending a run of 10 consecutive trading sessions of withdrawals.

The reversal is constructive, but it is too early to call it a full recovery in institutional demand. One $24.84 million inflow session carries limited weight after such a prolonged stretch of selling. The market will likely need several consecutive positive days before the shift in ETF flows can be viewed as sustainable.

Ethereum remains vulnerable below 50 SMA

Ethereum failed to stay above the previously identified $2,560 resistance area, which also coincides with the 50-day SMA.

As long as ETH remains below that zone, the recovery lacks technical confirmation. If buyers cannot establish a sustained move above $2,560 over the next several days, the probability of another decline toward $2,400 will increase.

A stronger wave of selling could push the correction further. Losing the $2,400–2,350 region would raise the risk of an accelerated move toward $2,200, particularly if the decline triggers another round of liquidations across leveraged long positions.

A decisive reclaim of $2,560 would invalidate the bearish setup. That would improve the short-term structure and bring resistance near $2,630 back into focus.

CPI could trigger another volatility spike

The market will receive September U.S. CPI data today, and any sharp reaction in Treasury yields or the dollar could quickly spill over into crypto.

For ETH, that risk is particularly relevant after several aggressive leverage resets. Short-term traders may need to prepare for wider candles and rapid breaks in either direction immediately after the release.
