HYPE price holds relative strength as crypto liquidations near $1B
Hotter inflation has hit risk appetite again, but HYPE is weathering the latest selloff better than most major cryptocurrencies. The key question now is whether that relative strength can hold.
Crypto markets sold off sharply after the release of September U.S. CPI. Inflation accelerated to 3.7% year over year, above expectations of 3.6%, while the monthly reading came in at 0.6%. The hotter print added fresh pressure to high-risk assets.
Against that backdrop, CoinGlass data showed roughly $976.75 million in liquidations over 24 hours, with longs accounting for $893.53 million. The imbalance suggests the market is still working through an excess of leveraged positioning.
HYPE, however, has held up noticeably better than the broader market.

HYPE eyes $83.50–85 if buyers defend key support
The bearish scenario from the previous analysis played out in full. HYPE failed to establish a hold above the $85–87 zone, dropped toward the $80 target and briefly tested $78.21.
The key support level for the next several sessions is now $77.30. If buyers can stabilize the price around that area, HYPE would have room for a local rebound toward $83.50–85.
A break and sustained move below $77.30 would invalidate that setup. Selling pressure would then intensify, increasing the risk of a deeper move toward the next support area around $73.
Relative strength could make HYPE a rebound leader
Despite the broader crypto selloff, HYPE is down only around 1.7% at the time of the latest move, showing clear relative strength.
That does not make the token immune to further downside if the wider market keeps falling. But if Bitcoin, Ethereum and other major assets begin to stabilize, that relative resilience could position HYPE among the faster movers in any subsequent recovery.
