XRP price prediction: Can the 200-day SMA hold and trigger a rebound?
XRP is trying to stabilize after another pullback, but buyers have yet to regain clear control. The next test is whether the 200-day SMA can hold and reopen the path toward $1.352–1.381.
According to CoinDesk, the fixCleanup3_4_0 upgrade for the XRP ledger is set to go live on October 23. This amendment proposal has been approved by 29 validators and involves the modification of asset holding, lending, and other aspects of the network.
However, the broader lending protocol has not yet secured the required approval, leaving its eventual launch uncertain.
DeFiLlama data point to softer network activity. The market capitalization of stablecoins on XRPL has declined by 14.34% in the last seven days to $1.033 billion, whereas seven-day DEX volume has decreased by 14.46% to $34.62 million. The network TVL is currently around $39.3 million.

The 200-day SMA remains critical for the next price move
XRP failed to hold the $1.325 support level and, as previously outlined, returned to test the 200-day SMA, reaching the projected $1.281 target. The price briefly fell as low as $1.256 before attempting to stabilize.
The 200-day SMA will remain the main technical reference point over the next several days. A decisive break and sustained move below it could trigger another wave of long liquidations and accelerate the decline toward $1.184.
If buyers manage to keep XRP above the 200-day SMA, the token could recover toward the $1.352–1.381 area.
Until the market produces a confirmed break in either direction, continued consolidation remains the more likely near-term scenario.
Weak liquidity could limit the next recovery attempt
The upcoming upgrade of the XRP Ledger is beneficial for the development of the network infrastructure; however, at the moment, it has not positively impacted market demand. Currently, XRP trades sideways.
A breakout from the existing trading range would not necessarily mean that a new trend has started. In the following days, liquidity in XRPL and capital inflows into XRP ETFs will play an increasingly significant role.
An improvement in those indicators could strengthen the case for a recovery, while further weakening in demand would leave XRP vulnerable to another sharp move.
