Dogecoin Labs launches to expand DOGE use across payments and DeFi
Dogecoin Labs expands DOGE

Backed by the Dogecoin Foundation, Dogecoin Labs is launching to combine several DOGE-focused products under one independent organization as the ecosystem looks for broader commercial use. The move brings together wallet, application and merchant payment tools while Dogecoin's efforts to build demand beyond meme-driven trading continue to face challenges in traditional finance.

Highlights

  • Dogecoin Labs launched with the Dogecoin Foundation, merging MyDoge wallet, DogeOS platform, and Such App payments under CEO Jordan Jefferson for unified DOGE utility expansion.
  • MyDoge, now part of Dogecoin Labs, has over 500,000 users and DogeOS launched its EVM-compatible public testnet on Sept. 30, aiming to connect developers directly with DOGE holders.
  • Dogecoin Labs integrates merchant payment features via Such App and shifts focus from Elon Musk endorsements to product adoption and developer growth amid ETF closure and limited traditional investor demand.

Product consolidation and growth plan

As reported by The Block, Dogecoin Labs has launched in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation, combining the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application platform and the Such App payments product under a single organization led by Chief Executive Officer Jordan Jefferson.

The new company is focusing on expanding Dogecoin's utility through consumer applications, payments, commerce, DeFi, gaming and other products, while the Foundation continues to handle ecosystem stewardship and open-source development. In a statement, Jefferson said Dogecoin's liquidity, community and cultural reach remain underused and that the new entity is designed to bring leading builders together around that opportunity.

The consolidation includes MyDoge, which the press release says has more than 500,000 users, and DogeOS, whose EVM-compatible public testnet launched on Sept. 30. Dogecoin Labs says this structure is intended to connect developers more directly with DOGE holders and support broader application development.

Market context and industry implications

Such App, developed by House of Doge and Brag House, adds merchant payment functions including invoicing and in-person QR payments. That gives Dogecoin Labs a more direct route into commerce as it tries to increase real-world cryptocurrency usage beyond trading activity.

The launch comes as Dogecoin's expansion into traditional finance is struggling to attract sustained investor demand. Bitwise announced plans to close its Dogecoin ETF in September, and Chief Executive Officer Hunter Horsley said earlier this month that the fund's failure underscored a gap between crypto ETF investors and users of crypto brokerage apps.

Earlier this year, Jefferson also described efforts to reduce Dogecoin's reliance on public endorsements from Elon Musk, pointing instead to new teams, investment and applications being built around the network. That positioning suggests Dogecoin Labs is aiming to shift the token's growth story toward product adoption and developer activity rather than sentiment-driven attention.

Our earlier report on Philippine e-commerce payments highlighted that cash-on-delivery still accounts for a sizeable share of online transactions even as QR and bank-transfer use accelerates. We noted that many shoppers abandon purchases if their preferred payment method isn’t available, increasing pressure on merchants to offer broader, secure checkout options as digital payments gain ground.
