Ethereum ETFs see $465M outflow, biggest daily drop yet
Institutional ETH demand surges despite ETF outflow pressure

U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs have recorded nearly half a billion dollars in daily net outflows — the highest single-day figure since their launch.

According to investment firm Farside Investors, following a month of record inflows, U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs saw a massive net outflow of $465 million on Monday, driven primarily by BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust.

BlackRock's ETF suffered the most, recording a net outflow of nearly $375 million on Monday. Despite the setback, total ETF net inflows remain at $9.3 billion, with net assets of $10.7 billion.

Data from SoSoValue shows that the Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH) had the second-largest daily outflow of $55.11 million. In total, Ethereum ETFs have accumulated net inflows of $2.2 billion and net assets of $2.4 billion.

The sharp pullback may indicate a shift in investor sentiment following strong July numbers, when Ethereum spot ETFs posted record net inflows of $5.43 billion.

This outflow coincided with ETH’s price dropping to $3,380 on Sunday — down 12% from Thursday’s price of $3,858. According to CoinGecko, the token rebounded to $3,629 by Tuesday.

Monday also saw outflows from Grayscale’s ETFs: the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust (ETH) recorded $28 million in net outflows, while the Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE) saw $6.9 million leave.

Institutional demand remains strong

Despite the significant outflows from Ethereum ETFs, blockchain data suggests that institutional demand for ETH remains strong.

On Tuesday, blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain reported that three wallets — likely belonging to whales or institutional investors — acquired a total of 63,837 ETH (about $236 million) via OTC deals facilitated by FalconX and Galaxy Digital.

Since July 9, Lookonchain has identified 14 new wallets that have collectively accumulated 856,554 ETH, valued at over $3.1 billion.
