Despite being sued, Cristiano Ronaldo held a workout with holders of his NFTs
Legendary soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, who has an endorsement deal and has released his NFT collection on Binance, held a training session with several fans and owners of his NFTs.
Ronaldo is fulfilling his promises to token holders despite lawsuits and attempts to prosecute him for his involvement in "trading in unregistered securities."
On January 25, cryptocurrency exchange Binance released a video of Cristiano Ronaldo playing soccer and giving sports tips to his fans who have invested in the NFTs he promotes. Also featured in the video are Xabi Lamé and Croatian footballer Marija Markovic, Cointelegraph reported.
As previously reported, a class action lawsuit was filed against Cristiano Ronaldo on November 27, 2023, in the US District Court in Florida for his "active participation in the promotion and sale of unregistered securities in partnership with Binance."
He had previously partnered with Binance and presented his own NFT collection in 2022. NFT holders were also given the right to exclusive communication with the soccer star. It was understood that Ronaldo would release a series of NFT collections.
Commenting on the partnership, Ronaldo said that he valued the relationship with fans and wanted to give them "unprecedented access to new experiences" through his NFT collection.
The advertising campaign featuring Cristiano Ronaldo even included a polygraph test. After releasing his second collection with Binance, Ronaldo claimed on the detector that he owned NFT, and it turned out to be true.
However, not everyone was enthusiastic about the soccer star's involvement in promoting Web3 technologies. Some investors who lost their investments blamed Ronaldo for not being more informed and not promoting unregistered securities.
At the same time, the plaintiffs were unable to contact Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia, so they sent notices via email and X (Twitter).
Now, the publication of Cristiano Ronaldo teaching the game of soccer to the owners of his NFTs has sparked a new round of interest and attention from members of the Binance crypto community.
