Highlights

  • USD/SEK maintains a bullish trend above short-term and long-term moving averages, with near-term levels showing buyers in control.
  • Technical indicators MACD and ADX confirm upward momentum, but RSI and CCI signal overbought conditions raising risk of a short-term pullback.
  • The projected five-day trading range is kr9.9065 to kr10.0573 with 77% probability of an upward move and immediate resistance at kr10.0276.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes the mild bearish intraday signal for USD/SEK, despite the ongoing technical bull trend. He remains skeptical due to overbought readings on the RSI and CCI, emphasizing the risk that buyers could quickly lose momentum. Kharitonov further observes the market's lack of fresh news catalysts, which limits sentiment-driven moves and heightens the danger of a sharp reversal. He points to the pair’s proximity to immediate support at kr9.9547 as an area of vulnerability, especially with selling pressure capping any upside. "I see a real risk that the current uptrend will face a correction soon, as technical overextension and absence of positive news both point to near-term downside," says Kharitonov.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, believes the bullish structure for USD/SEK remains intact, supported by clear uptrend signals across major moving averages. He views the alignment of the 50-day and 200-day moving averages as a strong technical foundation for further appreciation. Karapetjanc is confident that, despite subdued newsflow, underlying market sentiment continues to favor USD strength. He sees a breakout above kr10.0276 as a prime opportunity for traders to capture upside momentum. "Bullish momentum is dominant here and I expect further growth potential as the market offers multiple setups for buyers," says Karapetjanc.
Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, sees USD/SEK balancing at a technical crossroads, with overbought signals colliding with strong upward momentum. He notes volatility remains constrained and price action is near the intraday low, indicating a likely short-term pullback before any sustained trend develops. Turakhiya highlights the sideways scenario as a key setup for short-term trades, given the tight forecasted range. "With indicators mixed and volatility low, I would watch for quick shifts and scalp opportunities between support and resistance levels," says Turakhiya.

Bullish momentum meets overbought signals amid subdued volatility

USD/SEK is currently trading above the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages (kr9.9097, kr9.6952, and kr9.4789), confirming bullish momentum in both the short and longer-term outlooks. The prevailing uptrend is reinforced by the MA-50 vs MA-200 bullish alignment, with immediate resistance at kr10.0276 and support at kr9.9547. On the momentum side, MACD and ADX both signal continued buying strength. The RSI reads 72.0748, indicating overbought conditions, and CCI gives a similar overbought message. Stochastic RSI stands at 26.166, suggesting a possible short-term pullback, contrasting with bullish signals elsewhere. BBP at 0.1355 confirms intraday dominance by buyers, although Awesome Oscillator is neutral. After opening nearly flat, the pair remains near its intraday low with volatility at 0.31% and selling pressure keeping price action subdued.

In a recent review, analysts observed that USD/SEK was maintaining a bullish technical structure despite overbought conditions and some emerging intraday selling pressure. The current analysis strengthens this view by confirming persistent buying momentum, and traders should watch for a potential breakout above immediate resistance or a decline through key support as volatility compresses.
