Highlights

  • EUR/TRY trades below short- and medium-term moving averages but holds above long-term support, indicating bearish pressure with underlying support.
  • Bearish momentum dominates as MACD and RSI both indicate sell signals and price fell 0.5% to ₺55.0438 near today’s low.
  • Projected range for the next few days is ₺54.7686 to ₺55.319 with a very high probability of further decline and low volatility.

Technical resistance mounts as sellers dominate momentum readings

On the hourly chart, EUR/TRY is positioned below the MA-20 and MA-50, signaling short- to medium-term resistance, while the MA-200 at lower levels continues to provide long-term support. The Ichimoku Kijun marks immediate resistance at ₺55.2128. Among momentum indicators, MACD and RSI confirm sell conditions, with ADX remaining neutral. Stoch RSI and CCI indicate oversold territory, and Bull/Bear Power suggests that sellers are dominating intraday price action. The Awesome Oscillator is also aligned with this downward momentum, although oscillators show selling may be stretched.

Downside risk heightened amid tight trading range

Looking ahead, the short-term price outlook for EUR/TRY points to a likely range between ₺54.7686 and ₺55.319 over the next few trading days. Odds of a sustained upward move are very low, while the risk of continued downside is elevated. The baseline scenario anticipates EUR/TRY holding within this volatility band unless a clear breakout above resistance or breakdown below support occurs, which could trigger further movement in the respective direction.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, notes that EUR/TRY is under moderate pressure, with short- and medium-term indicators pointing to continued resistance. He observes that despite supportive longer-term trends, momentum and sentiment remain weak for a sustained upward move. The absence of news catalysts leaves the pair vulnerable to further downside, though strong support levels limit immediate risks. "Unless EUR/TRY breaks above resistance at ₺55.2128, sellers will likely keep control in the short term," Karapetjanc concludes.

Previously it was reported that EUR/TRY was likely to remain in a consolidation phase amid mixed technical signals and cautious sentiment. The current price action reinforces this outlook, with downside risk elevated and traders advised to watch for a decisive move beyond the ₺54.7686–₺55.319 range as the next directional cue.
