Highlights

  • USD/SEK trades above key short, medium, and long-term moving averages, confirming bullish momentum across all timeframes.
  • Momentum indicators are largely positive despite a short-term oversold signal, with buyers dominating intraday action as the pair gains 0.82%.
  • The pair is expected to range between kr9.9635 and kr10.101 over five days, with a 67% probability of an upside move.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees the USD/SEK pair maintaining bullish momentum above all key moving averages. He notes persistent buying strength, but warns about a divergence where Stochastic RSI signals an oversold condition despite broadly positive momentum. Kharitonov is cautious, as no news events support current sentiment, leaving the rally technically driven and potentially fragile. The expert stresses that if the pair fails to break above kr10.0488 soon, momentum could reverse swiftly. "Traders should remain vigilant for signs of exhaustion or invalidation, especially given the absence of new fundamental catalysts," he warns.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, views the bullish structure of USD/SEK as intact with further upside potential. He highlights strong technical confirmation and sees the current uptrend supported by prevailing momentum. Karapetjanc considers the market setup constructive, especially with intraday volatility offering fresh opportunities near resistance at kr10.0488. "With momentum indicators aligned and multiple setups present, I expect further growth as long as the pair stays above kr9.9635," he states.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, remains skeptical about sustainability in USD/SEK’s latest rise. He notes that price gains are not backed by fresh news or sentiment drivers, making the move vulnerable. Persistent volatility and a mixed oscillator profile point to caution. "Without renewed macro catalysts or a clear fundamental trigger, I see limited conviction behind this rally," says Dele.

Bullish structure persists as all technical signals remain aligned

USD/SEK is trading above the 20-, 50-, and 200-day moving averages (kr9.9767, kr9.7605, and kr9.5122 respectively), highlighting bullish momentum across short, medium, and long-term trends. With the MA-50 aligned above the MA-200, the structure remains supportive, and the near-term ceiling is set at kr10.0488, while the floor is at kr9.9767. Momentum signals are largely favorable for the pair. The MACD and ADX both indicate buying strength, with the RSI modestly bullish but not overbought at 54.9745. The Stochastic RSI is at zero, flagging an oversold condition, and the CCI is neutral at 17.4676. BBP at 0.0617 suggests buyers dominate intraday momentum, with the Awesome Oscillator direction neutral. On the session, the pair is up kr0.0816 or 0.82%, having opened nearly flat, currently trading near the day's high, and with intraday volatility at 1.21%. Momentum indicators generally confirm today’s positive tone, apart from the divergence signaled by Stochastic RSI's oversold state.

Earlier, analysts noted that USD/SEK was experiencing short-term weakness within an overall bullish trend structure. The current technical landscape confirms and strengthens the medium- and long-term bullish outlook, with a sustained move above kr10.0488 likely to set the stage for further upside.
