Vertical integration accelerates as Tesla unveils AI chip initiatives

Tesla has launched the Terafab project, an in-house AI chip manufacturing initiative targeting large-scale production with operations set to begin in seven days and an annual output goal of 100 billion to 200 billion chips. The company has also unveiled Macrohard, a joint AI system developed with xAI to deepen its vertical integration in AI hardware and software. Additionally, Tesla announced the official commencement date for Terafab and agreed with Syrah Resources to extend the deadline for settling an alleged default under their graphite supply agreement.

Oversold momentum persists as TSLA rebounds toward resistance band

Momentum indicators remain bearish, with both the daily MACD (-8.56, Sell) and ADX (21.37, Sell) confirming negative momentum, though the trend is not strong. RSI (39.95, Sell), CCI (-114.98, Oversold), and BBP (-1.55, Oversold) all point to oversold conditions, suggesting that sellers have recently dominated trading. The price increase of 2.59% included a minor gap up and a close near the top of today’s range ($398.80 – $403.67), indicating moderate volatility and renewed buying. The nearest resistance lies at the Ichimoku Kijun level of $408.88; support stands at $393.44 (SMA-200) and then at $393 and $390.

Sideways trade expected as oversold signals cap downside risk

Over the next five trading days, TSLA is expected to move within a $390 to $415 band, reflecting typical volatility. The probability of a sustained breakout above $415 remains very low (under 20%), while the baseline scenario sees the stock ranging sideways as oversold signals limit downward pressure. A move above $408.88 could trigger an upward push toward $415, while a fall below $393 would suggest a test of support near $390.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees Tesla’s technical picture as weak despite the news-driven rebound. He believes oversold indicators may slow further declines, but resistance at $408.88 remains firm. The positive sentiment from Terafab and AI partnerships is not enough to alter the short-term bearish bias. "Until $408.88 breaks, the base case is sideways movement with downside risk if $393 fails."

Earlier, analysts noted that Tesla’s price action reflected persistent short- and medium-term downside bias despite signs of long-term support. The latest developments—including the official Terafab launch and integration with Macrohard—introduce new positive catalysts, but with momentum still weak, traders should watch for a confirmed break above $408.88 as a potential signal for renewed upside.
