Apple seeks recovery after sharp drop
Apple

AAPL remains under pressure after sharp fall from $300 area toward $274-$276. On hourly chart, stock is trading near $281.66, while recovery attempt still looks uncertain.

Main negative driver is rising memory costs and price increases for some Mac and iPad models, prompting investors to reassess margin expectations.

Financial base

Fundamentally, Apple remains a strong company. In latest report for quarter ended March 28, revenue rose 17% year over year to $111.2 billion, EPS came in at $2.01, and services revenue reached new record. Board also authorized additional buyback of up to $100 billion and raised dividend by 4%.

Margin and demand risks

Short-term pressure increased after news about higher device prices due to memory chip shortage. Apple is also reportedly looking for ways to reduce supply-chain pressure, including possible access to Chinese DRAM suppliers. This could help with costs, but also adds political and regulatory risks.

Regulatory background

Antitrust pressure remains another source of uncertainty. In India, Apple is challenging CCI position in a case where potential fine could be calculated from global turnover and reach large amount. For investors, this is not main driver of stock right now, but it adds to valuation discount amid broader App Store disputes and Big Tech regulation.

Technical picture

On chart, AAPL remains below short-term moving averages, while $288-$292 zone is now nearest resistance. Above that, $300 and $304 are important. Support is located around $276-$274, with break lower opening path toward $270. Base-case scenario, as noted in Apple rebounds near $284 as margin risks cap upside, remains cautiously negative: until stock consolidates above $292, rebound looks corrective, and risk of another test of $276 remains.
