Rosenblatt sets target on AI-driven storage thesis
As reported by CNBC, Rosenblatt initiated coverage on Sandisk with a buy rating and set a $2,400 price target, implying 36% upside from Monday's close.Analyst Kevin Cassidy says new AI compute platforms are creating an opportunity to reposition NAND flash from a commodity storage medium into a more system-critical part of AI infrastructure. He says that, unlike traditional end markets such as smartphones and home computers where cost pressure often dominates, AI systems increasingly prioritize density, performance, endurance and supply certainty.
NAND flash memory stores data without a power source and is used in both consumer electronics and enterprise systems, including generative AI models. Cassidy adds that Sandisk's BiCS8 and BiCS10 3D NAND platforms give the company an edge because they can pack more bits into a given area of silicon without requiring much production space.
Wall Street support builds around Sandisk shares
Rosenblatt argues that this technology advantage can support a favorable bit-cost curve and help Sandisk sustain both performance and cost advantages in AI-oriented enterprise storage. That view comes after a sharp rally in the stock, with shares having surged 644% year to date in 2026 as NAND demand rises alongside next-generation AI models. The firm's call broadly aligns with the wider market view on the stock. Of the 28 analysts covering Sandisk, 24 rate the shares buy or strong buy, according to LSEG data.
