Shutdown at Sasovo facility
As reported by CNBC, Yandex says a drone attack caused a fire at its data center in Sasovo, Ryazan, on Thursday and affected part of the company’s infrastructure. The Moscow-based technology group says the site has stopped operating entirely. It adds that some Yandex services may be unavailable, while emergency crews remain at the scene and no casualties are reported.

The disruption at one of its key facilities highlights the operational risks facing major technology companies as attacks increasingly reach infrastructure inside Russia.
Broader pressure on Russian infrastructure
Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the strike on Yandex, but it continues to target Russian infrastructure more aggressively in recent months, including energy assets. Those attacks include strikes on oil refineries that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says help finance the war and the killing of Ukrainians. Ukraine also steps up attacks on Russian retailer Wildberries, which is described as a critical part of consumer infrastructure, while Zelenskyy says last week that Kyiv will intensify refinery strikes in response to a new wave of Moscow airstrikes aimed at pushing people to leave Kyiv and other cities.
