Trust ratings and underlying bond support
As reported by Fitch Ratings, Tender Option Bond Series 2026-XF8258 Trust receives a 'AAA'/'F1+' rating for its Floater Receipts Series 2026-XF8258 and a 'AAA' rating for its Residual Receipts Series 2026-XF8258. The rating outlook for the long-term ratings is Stable.Fitch says the long-term 'AAA' ratings on both the floater and residual receipts are based on the 'AAA' rating assigned to San Diego Unified School District 2026 General Obligation Bonds, Election of 2018, Series J-2, 5.500% term bonds due July 1, 2056, which are deposited in the trust. The bonds are dedicated unlimited ad valorem property tax bonds linked to the California school district.
Liquidity backing and rating sensitivity
The short-term 'F1+' rating on the floater receipts is based on a liquidity facility provided by JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association, which Fitch identifies as rated AA/F1+/Stable. Fitch says the facility has a stated expiration date of Oct. 15, 2027, unless that date is extended or the facility is terminated earlier.Fitch adds that the long-term ratings on the floater and residual receipts are exclusively tied to the credit quality of the underlying bonds in the trust and will move with any change to those ratings. The agency also says the short-term floater rating would be adjusted downward alongside the short-term rating of the liquidity provider and, in some cases, the long-term rating of the underlying bond. Fitch notes that both the long-term 'AAA' and short-term 'F1+' ratings are already in the highest categories and cannot be upgraded.
