Roebuck Food Group plans up to €10 million equity raise for GlasPort expansion
Roebuck seeks €10m for GlasPort

Roebuck Food Group is seeking up to €10 million in fresh equity as it pushes ahead with the commercial rollout of agricultural emissions-reduction technologies acquired last year. The proposed placing and subscription would fund the next development stages at GlasPort Bio and GlasPort Rumen Tech, where the group already holds minority stakes and an option to increase its GlasPort ownership.

Highlights

  • Roebuck Food Group plans to raise up to €10 million through a share placing at 9 pence per share to fund GlasPort expansion.
  • GasAbate, GlasPort's flagship product, has Arla approval for its FarmAhead Incentive programme starting 2027 and is targeting use on 90 farms by December 2026.
  • Roebuck holds a call option to increase its GlasPort stake from 37.3% to 82.3%, positioning itself for further strategic growth in agri-decarbonisation.

Fundraising plan and commercialisation focus

As reported by the London Stock Exchange, Roebuck intends to raise gross proceeds of up to €10 million through a placing and subscription of new ordinary shares priced at 9 pence each. The offer is aimed at institutional, professional and other investors, with J&E Davy acting as broker on the placing and the bookbuild starting immediately after the announcement.

The company says the new equity is intended to support the next stages of commercialisation and development at GlasPort Bio and GlasPort Rumen Tech. Roebuck completed a partial acquisition in February 2025, taking a 37.3% stake in GlasPort and a 16% holding in Rumen Tech.

GlasPort, based in Galway, focuses on greenhouse gas mitigation in agriculture. Its most advanced product, GasAbate, is a manure management additive that the company says reduces methane emissions by 80%, while helping farmers improve productivity and profitability.

Growth targets and strategic ownership options

Since the 2025 acquisition, GlasPort has continued expanding across several European markets. Roebuck says Arla, Europe's largest dairy co-operative, has approved GasAbate for the Arla FarmAhead Incentive programme from 2027, while GlasPort is also in discussions with other major European dairy processors about pilot installations on commercial dairy farms.

Management expects GasAbate to be used on more than 90 farms by December 2026, covering manure from 15,000 cows across five European countries. The company is also exploring additional benefits beyond methane reduction alone.

Rumen Tech's main product, RumenGlas, remains at an earlier development stage. The feed additive has been shown to reduce methane, hydrogen and carbon dioxide emissions from ruminant livestock.

Roebuck also holds a call option from the 2025 transaction that allows it to increase its shareholding in GlasPort from 37.3% to 82.3% on pre-agreed terms. That gives the fundraising a wider strategic dimension, as the company positions itself to back further growth in agricultural decarbonisation.

Cybersecurity funding trends in Q3 2026 showed a sharp rise in total capital raised, driven mainly by larger late-stage rounds even as the number of deals declined. Our earlier article highlighted how AI- and identity-security companies attracted outsized mega-rounds, alongside an uptick in strategic M&A that underscored continued investor confidence in the sector.
