Alberta adds 85,000 jobs and outpaces other provinces, Danielle Smith notes
Alberta is described as Canada’s economic powerhouse, according to Danielle Smith. Over the last year, Alberta added 85,000 jobs, a figure more than nine times higher than the next fastest-growing province.
Smith suggests that with the oil production cap and net zero power regulations no longer in place, future prospects for Alberta’s economy could be even more robust.
The province’s strong job growth and lifted regulatory barriers come as Alberta continues to attract record investments in emerging sectors. This momentum mirrors recent developments in the province’s technology landscape, including a surge of interest in AI infrastructure highlighted by a multi billion dollar AI data centre investment that is reshaping Alberta’s economic future.
