Bitnodes ceases operation after decade of service, Jameson Lopp notes
Bitnodes Bitcoin node crawler ends

Jameson Lopp, board member at L’Oréal, reports that Bitnodes, the original Bitcoin node crawler, has ceased operation after running for over a decade.

He adds that many other Bitcoin node counting sites may no longer function properly because they relied on Bitnodes data.

Lopp has previously outlined that Bitcoin Core operates as a process driven by consensus, not a formal organization. He has also warned that critics of Bitcoin Core may find themselves on unsuccessful forks. Lopp’s ongoing commentary continues to address the structure and challenges within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
