Stephanie Link: Markets grind higher as EPS growth hits 27.8 percent
EPS growth drives market gains

Stephanie Link, managing director and portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors, highlights that markets are grinding higher due to strong earnings per share (EPS) growth of 27.8 percent. Retail sector EPS results were particularly solid, with companies including TGT, TJX, ROST, RL, and TOL reporting across-the-board beats.

Earlier, Link pointed to the S&P 500 rising 8% and the Nasdaq up 15% year-to-date, citing improved EPS results. She also noted strong year-to-date performance for cybersecurity leaders including PANW, CRWD, and FTNT in a separate update. The focus in recent commentary has centered on sector earnings strength and resilience.
