Brian Sozzi, reporter / analyst at Yahoo Finance, highlights that last Friday marked the 22nd time the Nasdaq Composite dropped 4% or more on a Friday over the past 30 years.
In 17 of the previous 21 instances, the index fell below that Friday's intraday low on the following Monday, and 19 out of 21 times, it broke that low by the end of the next Friday.
Sozzi has previously tracked notable shifts in tech stocks, including when Arm Holdings and ServiceNow rose in pre-market trading while Qualcomm and Intel fell following Nvidia’s Computex keynote. He also reported on Goldman Sachs' projection of $5.3 trillion in hyperscaler capex from fiscal 2025 to 2030. Both developments reflect a focus on major technology sector movements.
