Ki Young Ju: Strategy BTC purchases act as liquidity sink, not catalyst
Strategy BTC buying seen as liquidity sink

Ki Young Ju, founder & CEO at CryptoQuant, believes that current BTC buying activity by Strategy functions more as a liquidity sink rather than a price catalyst.

He suggests that Strategy should pause its Bitcoin purchases, rebuild cash reserves, and implement a systematic approach for purchase timing. Ju also notes that in an environment with low selling pressure, concentrated demand can have a meaningful price impact.

Earlier this year, Ki Young Ju identified a shift as the average investor cost basis for Bitcoin reached $53,000, marking a new distribution phase for BTC holders. He also observed a sustained decrease in Bitcoin-to-altcoin asset flows, with BTC-pair trading volumes declining since 2021 according to CryptoQuant data. Both trends have contributed to ongoing market recalibration as investors reassess risk and positioning.
