Gabor Gurbacs criticizes the current state of the Bitcoin conversation, highlighting that it has been overtaken by individuals he describes as deeply unserious. Instead of building conviction, infrastructure, and distribution, these participants are accused of selling weak products and recycled narratives.
Gurbacs believes that this shift is a significant reason Bitcoin has not returned to its all-time highs. He also notes that changes in the discussion began almost 10 years ago.
Gurbacs has previously urged the Bitcoin community to reject exploitative figures and called for more active participation in the space, according to an earlier post warning against “fake prophets and conmen”. He has also highlighted that some mainstream investment strategies lagged behind Bitcoin, noting that Vanguard investors saw losses approaching 80 percent while Bitcoin performed significantly better. His recent comments continue a pattern of critique toward what he sees as weakening standards in the sector.
