Segwit adoption delayed by miners blocking upgrade, Tone Vays notes
Miners delayed Segwit upgrade over politics

Tone Vays, bitcoin analyst, derivatives trader & event producer, criticizes the lack of understanding around 2017 Segwit events.

Vays states that Segwit was scheduled for adoption in April 2016, highlighting that economic and node support, as well as code review, had already been completed at that time. However, miners, led by Bitmain, decided to block the upgrade and inject political considerations into the process.

Vays has previously commented on misunderstandings within the Bitcoin community, calling the network a test of humility versus pretense. He has also cautioned that running node software from teams supporting Bip110 could mean backing attacks on the Bitcoin network. These earlier statements reflect his ongoing focus on technical and security issues in the ecosystem.
