Ben Carlson, director of institutional asset management, CFA, author, investor at Ritholtz Wealth Management, highlights that the S&P 493 has outperformed both the Mag 7 and the broader S&P 500 this year.
According to Carlson, the S&P 493 is up 14.4% heading into today compared to a 9.3% gain for the S&P 500 and a 2.4% increase for the Mag 7 component stocks.
Carlson has commented previously on performance trends outside the large-cap benchmark. He recently noted that emerging markets led year-to-date gains with a 31% increase, while small caps and other segments also outperformed the S&P 500. In a separate post, he observed that bitcoin sentiment has ranged from million-dollar predictions to projections of zero.
