Alex Thorn: Coldcard wallet vulnerability prompts urgent BTC move
Ongoing attack affects Coldcard BTC wallets

Alex Thorn warns that an attack targeting addresses generated by Coldcard hardware wallets is ongoing.

He urges anyone with BTC in single-sig self-custody addresses created on Coldcard devices to immediately move their coins to either an exchange account or a new self-custody address not generated by a Coldcard wallet.

Thorn has previously commented on technical developments in bitcoin. He estimated that BIP-110 signaling would fall 51 percentage points short of the required activation threshold. Earlier this year, he also pledged up to $5 million in grants to advance post-quantum cryptography and signature schemes for bitcoin.
