Francis Pouliot: Bitcoin passphrase security evaluated with password bruteforcing research
Assessing Bitcoin passphrase strength

Francis Pouliot, CEO at BullBitcoin.com, reviewed state-of-the-art password bruteforcing methods and adapted them for Bitcoin BIP39 passphrases.

He developed a desktop application to help users assess the strength of their Bitcoin passphrases and increase confidence in their digital security.

Previously, Pouliot described the challenges facing Bitcoin privacy and self-custody products in a recent interview. He has also argued that open-source grants cause capital misallocation in Bitcoin by distorting jobs and consumer applications, as detailed in his analysis. These views inform his ongoing focus on security practices for Bitcoin users.
