Norway fund cuts U.S. Treasuries stake

Simon Dixon, chief executive officer at BankToTheFuture, reports that Norway's $2.3 trillion sovereign wealth fund plans to reduce its holdings of U.S. Treasuries by around $80 billion.

Instead of reallocating into equities or commodities, the fund aims to shift from government bonds—cutting their share from 70% to 50% of its bond benchmark—into higher-yielding fixed income securities, including agency bonds.

Dixon has previously highlighted a significant shift in bond market conditions, raising the issue that America could be risking its reserve currency status in a recent analysis. He has also assessed how financial and industrial sectors have profited from conflict and reconstruction in the Middle East, as detailed in an earlier report. These observations come as major institutional investors reconsider allocations amid changing market dynamics.
