MOVE Index needs to surpass 130 and 10-year reach 5% for action, Arthur Hayes notes
MOVE Index 130 and 5% 10-year required

Arthur Hayes, co-founder and chief investment officer at Maelstrom, discusses market conditions for significant policy response.

According to Hayes, a combination of a MOVE Index above 130 and a 5% yield on the 10-year Treasury would be required for major intervention, comparing the scenario to late 2023 when U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen began reducing the RRP facility.

Hayes has previously criticized punitive measures taken by some European countries against crypto wallet holders, describing their approach as restrictive in a recent commentary. He has also outlined concerns regarding a financial bubble in artificial intelligence, linking it to debt-fueled data centers and the poor profitability of hyperscaler stocks in a separate analysis. Hayes continues to comment on developments across both digital assets and broader market risk.
