Peter Brandt: Sequential drawdowns and trade sizing strategies discussed
Brandt analyzes trade sizing and drawdowns

Peter Brandt, founder and CEO of Factor LLC, discusses his method for tracking drawdowns (DDs) using sequential closed trades, measured in basis points relative to historical performance.

Brandt notes his worst drawdown in the current period is about 1%, but this could rise to 3-5% if marking to market weekly. He suggests that, from a game theory perspective, this might enable him to increase trade size fivefold and adjust nominal account levels on a quarterly basis.

Brandt previously observed that price walls have reappeared in BTC, echoing trends seen in 2021 and emphasizing the relevance of classic technical analysis approaches in crypto trading, according to a recent article. He also remains cautious on copper markets, refraining from trading due to unresolved concerns and comparisons with past supply narratives in silver, as noted in an earlier report. These views reflect Brandt's methodical approach to market uncertainty and risk management.
