Scott Bessent: Private sector fuels U.S. economic growth with over one million new jobs
Private sector drives U.S. jobs growth

Scott Bessent, 79th U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and founder of Key Square Group, reports that private sector activity is spurring a resurgence in the U.S. economy.

According to Bessent, more than one million private-sector jobs have been created since January 2025, while federal workforce numbers have dropped to their lowest levels since the 1960s.

Bessent has previously criticized Senator Warren and the media for what he described as a lack of understanding of foreign exchange markets and financial fundamentals in recent commentary. He also took part in G20 finance meetings, where he welcomed Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda and focused on the U.S.-Japan alliance. These interventions highlight his continued engagement with key financial policy issues.
