Vitalik Buterin: Ethereum node sync now possible in under half a day
Ethereum syncs faster and uses less space

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder at Ethereum, highlights that users can now sync an Ethereum node in under half a day, with disk usage dropping to under half a terabyte using aggressive settings.

He attributes these advancements to EIP-4444 and the ongoing optimization work by client teams on snap sync. Further improvements are expected from the upcoming Glamsterdam update.

Buterin has previously highlighted the launch of a new decentralized prediction market on Ethereum focused on ethics and meaningful participation, as detailed in a recent article. He has also pointed to significant advances on Ethereum Frames (EIP-8141), urging community attention to the updated proposal in another update. These developments come amid ongoing technical progress across the Ethereum ecosystem.
