Lisa Abramowicz: High-yield bond spreads widen sharply since October 2025
High-yield bond spreads see sharp widening

Lisa Abramowicz, journalist and co-host on Bloomberg TV/Radio at Bloomberg, reports that benchmark rates are increasingly impacting corporate credit, with high-yield bond spreads widening by 28 basis points over the past three days—the most significant move since October 2025.

Although spreads remain relatively low, Abramowicz observes that the pace of widening has accelerated recently.

Earlier this year, Lisa Abramowicz reported that U.S. workforce participation hit a five-year low, raising questions about labor market conditions (see article). She also noted that companies in the U.S. and Japan posted record numbers of earnings beats in the second quarter (see article). These developments provide context for the recent shifts in corporate credit markets.
