Strike introduces bitcoin interest earning

Jack Mallers, founder and CEO at Strike, has announced the launch of Bitcoin Interest on Strike. Cash balances on the platform will now earn 3.6 percent interest, paid out in bitcoin.

According to Mallers, the interest accrues daily, pays monthly, and comes with FDIC insurance up to $250,000. There are no minimum or maximum balance requirements.

Mallers has previously positioned Bitcoin as resistant to government intervention, referencing concerns over debt and central control in a recent interview. He also commented on Bitcoin’s long-term trajectory, noting the asset’s history of loud crashes and steady recoveries in a separate statement. These views provide context for his latest product announcement at Strike.
