Industry faces new self-custody risks, Samson Mow warns
Self-custody faces rising security risks

Samson Mow, chief executive officer at JAN3, expresses concern over the growing frequency of attacks targeting self-custody in the crypto sector.

He highlights risks such as weak entropy and supply chain issues, and points to potential future threats from software key exfiltration. Mow commends Blockstream Jade's proactive steps in implementing Anti-Exfil technology.

Mow previously reported that peg-outs on Liquid BTC remained paused while Blockstream developers conducted additional security and testing work. In a separate statement, he advised users to avoid reusing crypto addresses and not to overreact to remarks from an Ethereum researcher. These comments reflect Mow’s ongoing focus on operational security and user practices in the digital asset space.
