Layah Heilpern: Sberbank to begin bitcoin trading with $3,500 annual cap for people
Sberbank launches bitcoin trading with cap

Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, will launch bitcoin trading on December 1, but regular people will face a yearly cap of 300,000 roubles, approximately $3,500.

Layah Heilpern points out that while the government will permit bitcoin purchases, the restriction limits the ability to move significant funds out of the local currency.

Heilpern has previously highlighted security features in crypto markets, noting that Tether froze $550 million in Iran-linked USDT this year. She also tracked sharp moves in digital assets when PEPE gained 46% and DOGE rose 25%. These events follow ongoing monitoring of capital flows and restrictions in crypto by both platforms and governments.
