IMF and AMRO renew partnership agreement

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) have renewed their memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen cooperation and dialogue. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director at the IMF, said that strong partnerships are important in an uncertain world and highlighted the aim to enhance economic resilience and strengthen financial safety nets across ASEAN+3 countries and beyond.

Georgieva previously discussed global and Singaporean economic and monetary policy challenges with MAS Managing Director Chia Der Jiun, according to an earlier report. She is also set to release the IMF Global Policy Agenda at meetings in Bangkok, focusing on economic challenges and priorities, another article shows. These activities reflect ongoing engagement on financial stability and policy coordination in the region.
