Peter Schiff: Electricity bill rose 24% in Oct. 2026 versus Oct. 2025
Schiff reports 24% rise in electricity bill

Peter Schiff said his electricity bill for his primary residence was 24% higher in October 2026 compared to October 2025.

According to Schiff, who is CEO and Chief Global Strategist of Euro Pacific Capital, the house and appliances remained the same during the period. He argued that such an increase is inconsistent with an economy where inflation is close to 2 percent, adding that other bills are also rising substantially.

Schiff has recently commented on regulatory actions in financial services, citing the U.S. regulators' $1.2 billion fine to Bank of America for anti-money-laundering violations. Earlier, he questioned the viability of government-sponsored enterprise IPOs as shares of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fell nearly 80% from their September 2025 highs. His observations have focused on perceived inconsistencies between official economic figures and real-world developments.
