Anthropic and OAI AI funding over $800 billion

Anthropic and OAI have more than $800 billion in commitments to support further AI development, contingent on IPOs or debt offerings that could carry double-digit percent yields. The figure is comparable in size to the $800 billion U.S. housing bailout in 2008 and represents an amount around 2% of U.S. GDP.

Michael Taylor, co-founder and portfolio manager at Agora Trading, provided this perspective, comparing the potential AI funding scale with major historic U.S. financial interventions.

Earlier, Taylor reported that Anthropic reduced its IPO valuation from $2 trillion to $1.5 trillion. He also noted the exit and share sale of the FJET IPO CEO and founder. These developments form part of Taylor’s recent coverage of major moves in the IPO market.
