10-year yield off 2026 high as Fed meets

The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury started the week roughly 30 basis points below its highest point seen in 2026.

Sonali Basak commented that if the Federal Reserve continues to hike rates or signals its intent to do so during the week, it could help keep inflation expectations in check.

Last week, Sonali Basak reported that the U.S. raised $39 billion in a 10-year Treasury auction as yields reached multi-decade highs. She also noted that all 11 S&P 500 sectors are set to post positive EPS growth, which marks the widest earnings breadth since the pandemic period. U.S. Treasury auction yields and broad sector earnings growth remain in focus as new inflation data and Fed decisions are anticipated this week.
