CMS CARE rule brings $320 million savings

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) states its CARE rule is projected to save $320 million each year, with $142.6 million of those savings specific to nursing homes.

Michael A. Gayed highlighted that, in addition to these savings, the rule makes a significant change for buyers of older nursing homes, who would no longer be required to renovate every room.

Gayed has previously reported on high income opportunities, noting that PSEC was yielding 21% and trading at a 65% discount to NAV. He also highlighted recent moves in credit markets, citing that high yield option-adjusted spreads reached 343 basis points as of November 2. The analyst continues to track both regulatory developments and shifts in market yields.
