AST SpaceMobile stock drops more than 3% after convertible note offering and continued selling pressure
Ast spacemobile slides 3.33% today

AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS) fell 3.33% after the company's $1.15 billion convertible note raise and progress on regulatory and operational fronts failed to lift sentiment. Persistent bearish signals, with the stock remaining below all major moving averages and a lack of technical support, reinforce the downside move.

Highlights

  • AST SpaceMobile raised $1.15 billion via convertible notes to accelerate satellite deployment and growth initiatives.
  • The company gained Brazilian regulatory approval through 2039 and expanded its AT&T satellite-to-smartphone partnership.
  • Shares trade under key technical averages with negative momentum; expect a $52.96–$61.46 range and strong downside probability near term.

Capital influx and strategic advances countered by sustained selling pressure

AST SpaceMobile completed a $1.15 billion capital raise through convertible senior notes, including $1 billion in 1.625% notes due 2034 and $150 million from exercised options, to support growth initiatives. The company fully deployed BlueBird satellites 8, 9, and 10, and secured regulatory approval to operate its satellite constellation in Brazil through September 2039. Its partnership with AT&T for satellite-to-smartphone service continued to advance, and Monashee Investment Management LLC acquired 45,000 shares, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, believes AST SpaceMobile's recent capital raise has done little to shift the stock’s persistent bearish trajectory. He notes technical signals remain weak, with the price suppressed below all major moving averages and no clear support in sight. Regulatory wins and satellite deployments failed to inspire sustained buying, as sellers still dominate the tape. Institutional interest, such as Monashee’s stake, has not reversed prevailing negative sentiment. "The lack of upside momentum and continued selling pressure make any bullish thesis difficult to justify at this stage," Kharitonov warns.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees strong forward momentum on the fundamental side for AST SpaceMobile. He is encouraged by the sizable capital raise and progress in regulatory approvals and satellite deployment. Karapetjanc points to strategic partnerships, like the collaboration with AT&T, as reinforcing long-term growth prospects. He emphasizes that institutional inflows indicate continued market belief in the company’s potential. "I expect the market to ultimately recognize these positive developments — the bullish structure remains intact for investors with a forward-looking approach," Karapetjanc asserts.

Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, notes that near-term volatility is likely to persist with AST SpaceMobile stuck in a defined trading range. He highlights the oversold technical setup, suggesting that short-term rebounds could materialize but face firm resistance at $59.24. Momentum remains weak, so any positive moves may be brief unless sentiment shifts. "For active traders, range-trading opportunities may emerge — but staying nimble is essential until clear direction is established," Turakhiya advises.

Oversold momentum and weak trend amid defined trading range

AST SpaceMobile is trading below its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages at $70.92, $84.51, and $83.24 respectively, indicating sustained downside pressure across all observed timeframes. The Ichimoku Kijun at $72.57 serves as a distant resistance, with the near-term ceiling at $59.24 and floor at $56.87 outlining the current trading band. Momentum indicators including the MACD and CCI are negative, and the Average Directional Index (ADX) at 15.42 points to a weak and indecisive trend. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 37.87 and CCI at -89.35 highlight oversold conditions, while Bear/Bull Power readings confirm sellers' dominance in intraday action.

Earlier, analysts noted that despite improvements in liquidity and strategic partnerships, AST SpaceMobile remained under strong downside momentum with bearish technical signals dominating price action. The current analysis affirms this persistent weakness, with the probability of further declines elevated and traders advised to watch for a breakdown below the $56.87 floor as a potential trigger for additional downside volatility.
